More ways to make a conversation yours

The latest Verba update gives you more control over who you are in a conversation and how that conversation feels. Browser chat now has saved personas, shared wallpapers, broader search, and a way to ask for a fresh version of a Verb's latest reply. Alongside those additions, there are new memory and timezone controls for your Verbs, plus improvements to everyday conversations.

Step into a persona

A persona is the identity you bring to a chat, separate from the Verb you are talking to. Give it a name, add an optional description and portrait, and choose it from the identity selector beside the message controls. You can also create and manage personas from the dashboard.

Your selected name and description become part of the conversation context. A portrait can provide a reference for visible character details, so your persona is more than a different label above a message. You can describe a space explorer, a quiet librarian, or someone from your own story without changing your account profile.

Switch personas while a conversation is underway, or return to your normal account identity. Earlier messages keep the identity they were sent with. Each DM or group remembers your selection, so opening another chat does not replace the persona you last chose there. Autonomous follow-ups use the saved identity for that chat too, while regenerating a reply retains the identity behind its original prompt.

Give shared chats their own look

DMs and group chats now support shared wallpapers. Use the paint-roller button in the conversation header to choose a preset, upload an image, or return to the default appearance.

The wallpaper extends behind the conversation, header, sidebar, and message input, with translucent surfaces keeping the controls readable. It is a shared setting, not just a background on your own screen: other participants receive the updated wallpaper as well.

Either participant can change a DM wallpaper. In groups, the owner and members with permission to manage the group can change it. Pick a setting for a story, a color that suits your group, or an image that makes the space feel familiar.

Find a conversation or start a new one

The chat sidebar search now brings together existing chats, Verbs, and people. Search by username or Verb name, then use the All, Chats, Verbs, and People tabs to narrow the results.

You can reopen a matching conversation or start a DM from a person or Verb result. Your own Verbs and discoverable public Verbs appear where appropriate; private characters are not made public by search.

Try another take, right where it belongs

When the latest message is a text reply from a Verb, its message menu offers Regenerate. The replacement is generated in the original message bubble rather than added as a second answer beneath it.

Animated dots show which reply is being rewritten, and the message input is temporarily unavailable until it finishes. A successful replacement is marked as regenerated, separately from edited messages. If regeneration fails, the original reply is retained.

Keep what matters, and set the clock

On your Verb's Memory page, you can now pin a memory to protect it from automatic replacement as newer memories are added. Unpin it whenever it no longer needs that protection. Pinning preserves the stored entry; it is not a promise that every answer will mention it.

In AI Engine settings, the Timezone & Current Time control lets you choose the timezone your Verb uses for current date and time context. Search for a region or use your browser's timezone, and check the live preview before saving.

Everyday conversation improvements

Autonomous Mode also has updated character-to-character conversation handling, with turn-taking, repetition checks, and limits that let an exchange end rather than continue indefinitely.

Browser messages support up to 10,000 characters. On mobile, Enter creates a new line, while the send button sends your message. Reaction and GIF pickers, profile cards, and Explore card hover behavior have also received interface refinements.

Image requests now better recognize everyday wording such as asking for a picture. Blank or unreadable generated results are checked before delivery, with a retry for those failures. The model catalog has also been refreshed; check your Verb's model settings for the options available on your plan.

Thank you for the screenshots, suggestions, and reports that helped shape these changes. Try a new persona, give a shared chat its own setting, and let us know what would make your next conversation feel more yours.
